Over the many years I have been helping Clients deal with separation (both unmarried and married couples). I find that the vast majority wish they had come to see us earlier with what for them were unsolvable and confusing difficulties for which I can usually find workable solutions.

Many Clients quite naturally get bogged down in the details of the various problems that separation can throw up, i.e. what to do about the children, schools, maintenance, what to do about the house, who is going to pay the mortgage, will the house have to be sold, will they have to move and if so where will they go and how will that impact on schools and so on.

It all feels very confusing to many people, whereas to an experienced Family Lawyer there are always options.

I normally find that, as long as the Client has enough information to give me about their circumstances I can reach at least a working solution in the first interview and put to rest many of the problems that people imagine may well be set at separation, which in reality may not prove to be key or crucial and/or are solvable with a bit of work and a bit more information and advice.

I have therefore put together two more Blogs following this one to explain some of the ways we help people to deal with problems relating to their children and another one dealing with the financial side. Obviously many people have both these issues to resolve and I hope therefore that this will give anybody who reads them the clear impression that there is a life after separation; there are solutions and, with a bit of give and take, there are no unsolvable problems.
